About the Company Our client is a New York City-based insurance organization operating as part of a larger global property & casualty underwriting and distribution platform. Within this organization, our client maintains a dedicated title insurance services division that supports law firms, lenders, and real estate professionals across New York State with risk reduction, compliance oversight, and closing support - backed by modern technology and attorney-friendly tools. Our client offers the stability and resources of an established, multi-office organization combined with the agility and specialization of a growing title practice. This is an opportunity to help shape the operations of a title department within a well-capitalized, expanding platform. Role Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operations of the title department, ensuring smooth workflow from order intake through closing and policy issuance Supervise and support title closers, processors, and/or abstractors, coordinating workload and ensuring deadlines and turnaround times are met Serve as a liaison between the title department and underwriters, attorneys, lenders, and other transaction parties Monitor compliance with New York title insurance regulations, recording requirements, and underwriting guidelines Manage office administration functions, including vendor relationships, supplies, scheduling, and general department logistics Assist with onboarding and training of new title staff, and help coordinate HR-related administrative tasks for the department Track and report on department metrics (volume, turnaround time, error rates) to leadership Handle escalated client or transaction issues, ensuring timely resolution Support budget tracking, invoicing, and billing oversight for the title operation Help identify and implement process improvements and technology adoption to increase efficiency Role Requirements 5+ years of experience in the New York title insurance industry, ideally including time at a New York title agency, abstract company, or underwriter Working knowledge of New York title insurance practices and regulations (e.g., ACRIS, TP-584 filings, transfer tax/mansion tax calculations, recording procedures) Prior supervisory or office management experience, with the ability to lead and coordinate a team Familiarity with title production software (e.g., SoftPro, RamQuest, or similar platforms) Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort interfacing directly with attorneys, lenders, and underwriters Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office systems A New York title insurance license, or willingness to obtain one, is a plus Bachelor's degree preferred, but relevant industry experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
