Provide support to staff, students, and parents which will increase student achievement by using parent involvement strategies which support local school LSPI and Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) mission, vision, and goals. Develop and maintain a Title I Parent Center with appropriate student learning materials for parent check-out. Greet, welcome, and assist parents. Manage space and operation of the Title I Parent Center. Develop and maintain a Title I Parent Library. Select and purchase appropriate materials for parent check-out. Provide training for parents in the use of materials. Assist parents with understanding Title I, federal and state requirements, school status, Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS), report cards, learning compacts, assessments, and pupil progression. Provide orientation for all parents new to the school. Create opportunities to involve all parents in the education of their child. Coordinate academic-based learning opportunities/workshops for parents at flexible times. Establish and meet regularly with a Parent Involvement Committee. Support the families of the most academically at-risk students through the implementation of Parent Support Plans. Maintain frequent, ongoing communication with targeted families. Provide resources and workshops focused on academic interventions to families of at-risk students. Utilize data to identify at-risk students and to determine effectiveness of support and interventions. Assist in keeping parents informed concerning academic expectations, student learning opportunities, training, and issues related to federal and state requirements through communication. Advertise all Title I parent involvement activities through a variety of media. Communicate with parents via school and Parent Center newsletter and school website. Serve as the liaison between the local school and the Title I Department- Parent Involvement and Flexible Learning Programs, if applicable.
