Freeport Ford Position Summary Freeport Ford is seeking a detail-oriented and organized License & Title Clerk to join our dealership team. This position is responsible for processing vehicle titles and registrations, maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and supporting the sales and accounting departments with dealership documentation. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced automotive environment. Key Responsibilities Process all vehicle title and registration paperwork accurately and promptly Submit title applications and license plate documentation to the appropriate state agencies Verify legal transfer of ownership and ensure all documents are complete Maintain organized records of vehicle titles, registrations, and lien releases Track title receivables and follow up on missing or delayed paperwork Assist customers with title, registration, and licensing questions Ensure compliance with Illinois DMV regulations and dealership policies Coordinate with sales, finance, and accounting departments to finalize deals Prepare and process trade-in payoffs and title corrections when necessary Reconcile title schedules and maintain audit-ready files Perform additional administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Previous automotive dealership experience preferred Experience with title processing, registration, or DMV procedures is a plus Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to handle confidential information professionally Proficient with computer systems and dealership software Strong communication and customer service skills High school diploma or equivalent required Benefits Competitive pay Health insurance options Paid time off Retirement plan opportunities Employee discounts Supportive team environment Schedule Full-time Monday-Friday How to Apply Interested candidates can apply in person or submit a resume to Freeport Ford for consideration. 815.232.6868 or www.freeportford.com
