Job Description

AUOTOMOTIVE TITLE CLERK
This position ensures the accurate and efficient processing of vehicle titles by verifying title information is correct, maintain knowledge of current laws regarding vehicle titles, and interact with customers and regulatory agencies to resolve title issues.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process and re-assign titles for vehicles bought and sold. Monitor and audit all sales to verify the necessary paperwork is filled out properly. Assist with Cashier and Receptionist as needed • Examine vehicle title for accuracy and conformity to specified requirements. Verify acceptance of the title in the state for which it is filed, VIN number, odometer reading, releases of liens, and that titles contain no alteration, etc. Determine negotiability of title document and assess for potential fraud. Report any title discrepancies. Resolve titling issues through interaction with customers, dealers, and regulatory agencies. Maintain knowledge of current DMV laws and regulations as they relate to vehicle titles and interpret titling regulations in each state, for which vehicles are processed. Receive and route telephone calls in a courteous and efficient manner to the appropriate personnel or department. Run outstanding title reports, review, and contact buyers/sellers regarding outstanding title issues. Track vehicle inventory and repossession vehicles. Receive purchased vehicles into inventory system. Reconcile monthly lot vehicle inventory. Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the Controller, GM, and Owner
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Detail oriented and very organized Strong analytical skills with the ability to research Commitment to continuous process improvement Proficiency in use of Excel Spreadsheets Quickbooks experience is a plus Must have good communication skills Results focused while ensuring deadlines are met with a high level of quality
