Job Description

Job Description:
At SUNY Oneonta, Admissions is the gateway to the student experience, connecting future Red Dragons to a community where they can learn, grow, and thrive. The Office of Admission and Enrollment invites applications for three Admissions Counselor positions. Reporting to the Director of Admission and Enrollment, these roles are instrumental in advancing enrollment goals through dynamic outreach, meaningful relationship-building, and personalized recruitment strategies. This position is ideal for highly motivated, student-centered professionals who are energized by connecting with prospective students and families and thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment. Two of these positions require more travel during peak recruitment periods, while one position involves less travel; however, all roles share similar responsibilities and expectations. Candidates who are excited by travel and outreach are strongly encouraged to apply, as all counselors engage directly with students and families and play a critical role in building the incoming class. Admissions Counselors serve as front-line representatives of SUNY Oneonta, responsible for engaging prospective students throughout the recruitment cycle, from inquiry to enrollment. This role requires a strong commitment to outreach, including phone calls, text, email, and virtual engagement, as well as in-person recruitment.
