The successful Admissions Counselor II exhibits superior customer service skills and professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with students including interviews, phone calls, emails, and information sessions. Works closely with the Associate/Assistant Director of Admissions and Admission Committees before and during interview days for assigned programs. With guidance from the Associate Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor II may implement recruitment strategies to reach prospective students through various events. The Admission Counselor II must demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members, faculty, students, alumni, administrators, and staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Skills:
Skill in written and verbal communication. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and any other software. program required by this position. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Good customer service and interpersonal skills. Good time management skills.
Abilities:
Ability to work and concentrate in a busy multi-tasked environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, cyclical environment. Ability to interact effectively with faculty, students, administration, staff and outside contacts. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive applicant information with discretion. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Ability to problem-solve and respond professionally to applicant questions and concerns. Ability to assist with budget management. Demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.
Required Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Minimum of two years of experience in university admissions and recruitment or a similar recruitment setting. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Essential Job Duties Key Responsibilities Use CRM system to prioritize and manage daily workflow. Make daily phone calls via the Task Portal to follow-up for outstanding items and communicate next steps at each stage of the funnel. Add appropriate interactions and future follow-up dates via the call form. Key Responsibilities Preparation and facilitation of virtual and on-campus interviews, which could include creating interview slots in CRM, preparing name badges and give-a-way bags, facilitating interview day activities, and conducting admissions presentations. Key Responsibilities Provide superior customer service and cultivate relationships when interacting with prospective students on the phone, in writing, by email and/or in person to determine their educational needs, concerns and interests while promoting the benefits of higher education. This includes timely and accurate communication at every stage of the funnel, while always avoiding misrepresentation. Key Responsibilities Create one-on-one or group advising appointment slots in the Slate CRM. Review submitted documents/questions, or previous application, in preparation for advising appointments. Conduct advising sessions for prospective applicants, applicants, re-applicants, and incoming students. Review course descriptions/syllabi and advise prospective students about course acceptability. Key Responsibilities Work in collaboration and cooperation with leadership and academic divisions to assist with appropriate in-person and virtual recruitment activities including, but not limited to: Campus tours, open houses, and info sessions. May include participation in recruitment events at partner institutions. (grad fairs, presentations, etc.) as needed. Assist with the creation of recruitment presentations that will be used when presenting to partner schools. Key Responsibilities Meet admissions department daily, weekly, and quarterly productivity goals, i.e. phone calls, e-mails, applications, interviews, etc. Key Responsibilities Assist with department budget, which may include preparing quarterly reports, budget transfers, ordering supplies, etc. Key Responsibilities Assist with processing admissions decisions in CRM. Key Responsibilities Provide continuous evaluation of processes and procedures during, and at the end of each cycle, with results being used to improve area operations, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers. Recommend appropriate technological improvements to support enrollment functions. Key Responsibilities Assist with training staff on a variety of topics including admissions requirements/processes and CRM procedures. Attend admissions committee meetings as needed when Associate Director of Admissions is not available. Perform other duties as assigned.
