Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Admissions to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, coordinating admissions, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and their families. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and intake evaluations to determine care needs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans. Manage the admission process, including documentation and coordination with other healthcare providers. Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment options and care plans. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and patient management. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusion and injections. Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions regularly. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques during procedures. Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care coordination. Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Experience in acute care, long-term care, or home health settings preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical documentation practices. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems; experience with Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is a plus. Strong clinical skills in areas such as triage, medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and wound care. Knowledge of critical care practices, including acute pain management and ventilator management is advantageous. Experience working with diverse populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong organizational skills.
