Job Description

This position provides comprehensive acute and chronic care to all patients. This includes diagnosis and treatment including prescribing medications and therapies, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing and providing education and counseling to patients and their families. to the extent of the
ARNP/PA-C
scope of practice and as licensed by the State of Idaho /Idaho State Board of Nursing.
Job Description:
Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition. Analyze and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses. Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, splinting, wound care and infection management Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination to support proper coding to patients medical record. Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety and cost as legally authorized. Diagnose or treat patients, unstable, episodic, or emergency conditions in collaboration with other health care providers as necessary. Coordinate patient care with appropriate support staff including but not limited to Radiology, Laboratory and Nursing. Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances. Consult with or refer patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed the scope of practice or expertise. Record referral to assist in tracking patient demand for said specialty. Keep abreast of regulatory processes and payer systems such as Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer plans. Maintain medical staff privileges at TVH Participate in peer review as required. Order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, MRI, Ultrasound, and laboratory tests. Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living and health maintenance. Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost invasiveness, simplicity, acceptability, adherence to best practices and efficacy. Assists with any other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current State of Idaho ARNP License and Certification Current BCLS certification Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Basic knowledge in computer use; including email and electronic documentation Intermediate math skills including algebra equivalent logic and reasoning required for dosage calculations Ability to use standard patient care equipment including handling flammable gases Ability to maintain and follow guidelines, set standards of practice in quality patient care, and state, federal, and facility required infection control practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills matching our patients needs and TVHC's mission and values
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One year of ARNP experience ACLS or PALS certification Additional languages - Spanish Preferred
