Job Description

Position Summary:
As an Ag Banker, you will be responsible for soliciting, developing, and maintaining profitable relationships with individual agribusiness customers. You will demonstrate the ability to originate and structure loans while effectively managing risk both before and after the extension of credit. In this role, you will serve as a relationship manager, partnering with teams across the Bank to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and support long-term success. You will actively seek opportunities to add value beyond customers' immediate needs while building strong, trusted relationships and delivering a high level of service. You will provide support to management related to branch operations and follow up with customers during and after service delivery to ensure their needs have been fully met. What will you do:
Accountabilities Relationship Management Provide top service & relationship management. Promote our department and personal expertise to maintain relationship and grow portfolio organically. Make recommendations on credit structure that will enhance relationship while staying within guidelines with minimal supervision. Maintain relationships with key customers by offering excellent service and unique solutions tailored to their operation. Collaborate with team leaders to enhance products and services to add value to customers. Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of products and services as well as knowledge of competitors and their products. Proactively promote bank products and services and keeps clients informed of all solutions to meet their needs. Maintain loan and deposit portfolio size that commensurate with your level. This level is evaluated annually by department leadership team. Exercise independent judgement and discretion to make lending decisions within established guidelines with minimal supervision. Business Development Initiate network opportunities to assure customers receive quality service and to enhance relationships with external referral sources to facilitate business development opportunities. Provide superior service to existing clients that leads to client retention, additions, and referrals. Follow up on leads and opportunities to retain existing customers and attract new relationships. Implement a plan to achieve individual annual growth goals for loans and deposits to ensure the bank meets its overall financial targets while keeping our credit culture in mind. Strategize and develop new business by building relationships with industry groups and influencers. Collaborate with First Crop Solutions to assist in growing the insurance portfolio. Credit Administration Display true ownership of portfolio quality measured by proper compliance with Bank's Loan Policy & Guidelines. Maintain portfolio tickler exceptions are maintained at 15% with minimal and appropriate extension requests. Credit file deviations must be kept to a minimum. Administer and monitor construction projects appropriately to ensure project risk is sufficiently mitigated. Provide thorough review of Customer Financial Statements to ensure proper Risk Ratings are maintained. Ensure findings by Credit Review are resolved or addressed without oversight from Management. Monitor Loan Covenants appropriately. Maintain acceptable level of documentation exceptions and deviations from loan policy. Support experienced Ag Bankers with file maintenance and document collection for more complex relationships. Assist with annual collateral inspections to ensure adequate collateral coverage for the borrowing relationship. Maintain proper documentation to adhere to loan policy/guidelines and approval requirements. Community Involvement Actively promote bank in community and identify opportunities for community involvement and partnerships. Actively participate in community and industry organizations to help source business development opportunities and demonstrate our commitment to Agriculture. Support the Ag Banking Manager in coordination of Ag educational programs and/or events. Delegate support and assistance functions related to community involvement. Qualifications Secondary education in related field preferred. Five or more years of relevant work experience or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position. Experience with lending and agriculture preferred. Completion of banking school also preferred. Skills and Abilities Ability to work independently with little supervision. Self-motivated. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to conduct relationships in a manner that ensures cooperation and positive results. Demonstrate a high degree of concern for professional and innovative customer service. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Possess working knowledge of commercial banking and economics.
