AGAR Structural Steel Fabricator/Erector Houck Specialty Contractors •Safety Sensitive Position•

Shop PM Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Steel Fabricator and Erector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural steel components such as beams, columns, RTU frames, etc. for various construction projects. This role requires expertise in interpreting blueprints, operating machinery, and ensuring precision in the fabrication and erection process.
Responsibilities:
1.
Steel Fabrication:
Fabricate structural steel components according to blueprints and specifications using various tools and equipment. 2.
Welding and Cutting:
Perform welding, cutting, and shaping of steel materials to meet project requirements, maintaining high-quality standards. 3.
Assembly and Construction:
Assemble fabricated steel components on-site, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and adherence to safety regulations during erection. 4.
Installation and Erection:
Erect materials onsite in accordance with shop drawings. 5.
Equipment:
Working with cranes, scissors lifts, forklifts. 6.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Interpret and comprehend detailed shop drawings to execute fabrication and erection accurately. 7.
Quality Control:
Conduct quality checks to verify the integrity and accuracy of fabricated steel components and the installation process. 8.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for self and team members. 9. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Qualifications:
3 years Proven experience as a Structural Steel Fabricator and Erector Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications. Expertise in using fabrication tools, welding equipment and machinery. Strong knowledge of welding and steel construction methodologies. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety regulations. Pre-employment physical and drug screening. High School Diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years of age. Competencies 1. Positive attitude and work ethic. 2. Able to work independently or as an active member of a team. 3. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management. 4. Basic mathematical skills. 5. Safety prioritization. 6. Proficiency in tool use and understanding of their functions. 7. Proper equipment selection. 8. Understand and able to follow written directions. 9. Judgment and decision making, time management. 10. Anticipation of problems and proactive problem solving. Physical Demands Physical demands are based on the ability to perform the following actions throughout a 9-hour period of work 5 days a week. 1. Exert oneself physically over long periods of time. 2. Bend stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and other extremities. 3. Use one's abdominal muscles and lower back to lift continuously over time without fatiguing. 4. Exert maximum muscle force to lift, pull, or carry objects up to 100 pounds on occasion, and up to 50 pounds regularly. 5. Keep or regain one's body balance or stay upright. 6. Quickly move the arms and legs. 7. Make fast and repeated movements of the body, fingers and hands. 8. Keep the hand and arm steady while making a movement. 9. Quick, coordinated movements of one hand to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects. 10. Coordinate movements of two or more limbs together while sitting, standing, or lying down. 11. Stand and walk throughout an extended workday. 12. Use legs, hands and arms on a consistent basis for manual labor. 13. Climb and/or balance yourself. 14. Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. Work Environment Shop and field to include new construction, existing buildings, residential, etc. Position Type Full-Time/Regular Hours Monday through Friday, 7AM - 4PM Compensation & Benefits Hourly Compensation, benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision/Life/Short-Term Disability/Long-Term Disability and more, after waiting period.
