Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Agricultural Equipment Operator to join our farming team in South Central Kansas and North Central Oklahoma. We are a ranching operation that runs stocker cattle year round and also grow wheat, corn, soybeans and forage for our livestock. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a wide range of farm machinery to support crop production, livestock management, and farm maintenance activities. Your expertise in equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and livestock handling will be vital in ensuring efficient farm operations and maintaining a safe, productive environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, contribute to sustainable agriculture practices, and provide a balance of work with both farming and ranching. We run modern John Deere equipment and value our team and families supporting the operation. Responsibilities Operate various farm machinery including tractors, combines and sprayers with precision and safety. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and basic mechanical skills to ensure optimal performance. Assist with cattle duties on a backgrounding stocker operation including processing and doctoring sick cattle. Conduct equipment inspections regularly to identify issues early and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed. Support planting, cultivating, harvesting, and spraying activities with hands-on involvement in growing crops. Supervise or collaborate with team members on farm tasks, ensuring safety protocols are followed and work is completed efficiently. Utilize basic math skills for measurements, record keeping, inventory management, and scheduling tasks related to farm operations. Experience Prior experience operating heavy farm machinery such as tractors, harvesters, and sprayers is preferred but open to training if candidate is motivated to learn. Demonstrated mechanical knowledge including troubleshooting equipment issues and performing repairs using hand tools or welding techniques. Experience with cattle is a strong asset; but not necessary for the job. Knowledge of farming practices in no till is a bonus. Ability to perform physical tasks with a positive attitude and ability to work with a diverse range of employees as part of the team. Basic math proficiency for measurements, calculations related to farming activities, inventory tracking, and record keeping. We value energetic individuals who are eager to grow their expertise in farming and ranching with the opportunity for professional growth.
