Agricultural Technician

AgVenture Gray's Seed, Inc. is seeking a motivated applicant to fill the position of Agricultural Technician . This is a full-time position located at our facility in Fairland, Indiana.

Family owned since 1946, our company provides quality seed products and expertise to central Indiana. We are an AgVenture Regional Seed Company, allowing us to provide growers with the most advanced crop genetics available today.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinating and performing key farm tasks including planting, spraying, and storage of crops Overseeing crop conditions, performing agronomic assessments, and providing input on key crop care decisions Operating farm machinery and other large equipment to perform typical farm tasks Maintaining Gray's Seed facilities - grounds keeping, mowing, ditch mowing, weed trimming, etc. Maintaining and repairing farm machinery Loading and unloading of trucks and managing warehouse inventoryDelivering product to customers Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Prior agricultural background or experience Associates degree or technical training in a relevant field Experience operating large machinery Must hold a valid driver's license Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outside, often times in dirty conditions and in inclement weather Ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) - pass DOT physical and entry-level driver training (ELDT) program Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in agricultural systems, agronomy, soil science, dairy science, agricultural economics or other agriculture related field Familiarity with common growing practices and agronomic conditions found in commercial grain production Valid commercial drivers license (CDL) Certified private applicator (PA) license What we offer: 40 hour work week with time and a half overtime Medical insurance compensation/ possible Health Reimbursement Account if criteria met Paid time-off (PTO) with 6 paid holidays Uniforms (t-shirts and sweatshirts) Compensation is negotiable based on experience.
