Sierra Integrated Services, Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable Landscape Technician to join our growing team. Landscape Technicians perform vegetation management, landscape maintenance, irrigation support, groundskeeping, and related field operations for a variety of commercial, utility, municipal, and industrial clients throughout California. This position works primarily outdoors and requires regular travel to project locations. Employees may be required to stay overnight for out-of-town assignments and must be able to safely perform physically demanding work in varying environmental conditions. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Landscape and Grounds Maintenance
- Mow, edge, trim, and maintain landscaped areas and vegetation.
- Perform weed control, pruning, brush removal, and seasonal cleanup activities.
- Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, ground cover, and other landscape materials.
- Assist with landscape installation and enhancement projects.
- Maintain irrigation systems and assist with irrigation repairs and troubleshooting. Equipment Operation
- Safely operate landscaping and vegetation management equipment including:
- String trimmers
- Edgers
- Hedge trimmers
- Blowers
- Push and ride-on mowers
- Hand tools and other assigned equipment
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport equipment and materials. Project Support
- Assist Crew Leads with daily project execution.
- Follow work plans, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while working independently or as part of a crew.
- Represent Sierra Integrated Services professionally while interacting with clients and the public. Safety and Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and training requirements.
- Properly utilize assigned personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), safety meetings, and training programs.
- Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, and near misses.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable company, client, and regulatory requirements. Travel Requirements
- Regular travel throughout California is required.
- Overnight travel may be required based on project location and business needs.
- Employees may be assigned to various job sites and work locations throughout the state. Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate equipment and perform physically demanding labor. Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to perform physical outdoor work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to designated reporting locations.
- Ability to travel and stay overnight as required.
- Strong attendance and punctuality record.
- Commitment to workplace safety. Preferred Qualifications
- Previous landscaping, grounds maintenance, vegetation management, construction, or outdoor labor experience.
- Valid California Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
- Experience operating landscaping equipment and power tools.
- Experience working around commercial, municipal, or utility properties. Compensation and Benefits
