Climbing Arborist

Big Leaf Industries LLC is looking for a full-time (or possibly part-time) Arborist and Crew Leader to add to our team. This includes but is not limited to tree pruning and removals (either climbing or bucket operator), operating chippers, mini-skid, and stump grinder, as well as tree planting and fertilizing, etc. Pay scale depends on experience and credentials. We are a small, full service tree care operation that is looking for a well rounded, knowledgeable arborist. However, we may be willing to train someone with the right background. We do not have any formal educational requirements. Just a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic with a current drivers license. Owner has been in the industry 22 years and is an ISA certified arborist. We are committed to providing the highest quality service and workplace safety. Summary As a Climbing arborist and crew leader, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of crew and care of trees, including maintenance tree trimming and removal. You will utilize your core skills in climbing and/or in bucket operation to perform various removal (rigging and felling) and pruning tasks. Adherence to industry standards is a must. Any relevant experience in horticulture and landscape maintenance is a plus and will enhance our company's commitment to providing exceptional tree care and growing landscaping services . Responsibilities Perform tree care and trimming duties to maintain the health and aesthetics of trees. Access trees with climbing/ropes as well as operate bucket truck safely for tree maintenance. Utilize rigging techniques for safe tree removal and limb lowering. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition. Qualifications ISA Certified Arborist, Climber specialist or other industry credentials a plus Proficient in tree care and trimming techniques, best management practices, etc. Experience with bucket operation and bucket truck usage, chippers and other industry equipment Knowledge of rigging practices for safe tree removal
