Position Summary The Production Tree Climber is a key member of the crew responsible for performing pruning, removals, and general tree care services using climbing and rigging techniques. This is a hands-on role that works closely with the Foreman to execute jobs safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards. Key Responsibilities Climb trees using rope and saddle techniques to perform pruning and removals Execute proper pruning cuts in accordance with ANSI and industry standards Assist in rigging operations and controlled dismantling of trees Support safe and efficient job site operations under Foreman direction Inspect trees for hazards, structural defects, and overall health Operate chainsaws, chippers, and other equipment safely and effectively Assist ground crew as needed to maintain workflow and efficiency Maintain, inspect, and properly care for climbing gear and equipment Uphold company standards of quality and cleanup on every job ("DWC Pride") Qualifications 1-3+ years of tree climbing experience (or strong entry-level training) Familiarity with climbing systems, knots, and basic rigging techniques Valid driver's license preferred Basic knowledge of tree care practices and safety standards ISA Certified Arborist (a plus, not required) Skills & Attributes Strong physical fitness and ability to work at heights in outdoor conditions Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills Willingness to learn, take direction, and improve skills High attention to safety, detail, and quality workmanship Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic Growth-minded with interest in advancing within the company Perks & Benefits Competitive full-time pay Paid Time Off (PTO) and holiday pay Ongoing training and skill development opportunities Company-provided safety equipment Opportunities for advancement into leadership roles
