Job Description

SALARY Effective Monday, June 29, 2026- The minimum salary is $22.448 per hour This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable. Pay Grade 516 This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) once obtained within the required first six (6) months of employment.

DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to assist the Arborist/Urban Forester by performing arboricultural and horticultural management and by providing administrative duties related to compliance assistance for residents regarding the Street Tree Ordinance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate's degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college education in a field related to the job Two (2) years of related experience Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs arboricultural and horticultural work in publicly managed areas Investigates complaints and requests, performs compliance assistance related to the Street Tree Ordinance, and/or coordinates with Urban Forester and/or Arborist on proper courses of action Conducts inspection services for tree and landscaping installations for compliance with design plans, LFUCG manuals, and
ISA/ANSI
tree care standards Operates heavy equipment, trucks, and power tools Conducts snow and ice removal during winter months Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment. Valid driver's license; and within the first six (6) months of employment: International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Arborist Certification Pesticide Applicators License Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B with Endorsement N - Tank Vehicles and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16 Must be accessible for on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned during emergencies
