Job Description

Job Overview We're looking for an experienced, safety-minded Tree Climber / Arborist to join our crew and handle a mix of advanced tree work and hands-on ground support. This role includes everything from complex pruning and technical removals to helping out as a groundman when needed. You'll be working on residential and commercial properties, following
ANSI Z133, ISA
Best Management Practices , and company safety standards. The right person is confident in modern climbing and rigging systems, works smart and safely, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever the crew needs support—whether that's in the canopy or on the ground. What You'll Be Doing Perform advanced aerial tree work using SRT/SRS, DdRT, and hybrid systems for pruning, removals, crown thinning, reductions, and cabling prep Set up and run advanced rigging systems , including negative rigging, speed lines, and controlled lowering in tight or high-risk areas Operate chainsaws aloft with precision, understanding tension, compression, and safe cutting techniques Running ropes and friction devices Managing drop zones and debris Chipping, loading, and staging equipment Complete job hazard analyses (JHAs), pre-climb inspections, and on-site risk assessments Participate in and help lead tailgate safety meetings and job planning discussions Communicate clearly with the crew about rigging plans, cuts, and safety concerns Inspect and help maintain climbing gear, rigging equipment, chainsaws, and PPE Identify tree defects, decay, and structural issues and recommend proper solutions What We're Looking For 2-4+ years of professional climbing experience Strong skills in modern climbing systems, knots, rigging, and load management Solid understanding of
ANSI Z133, ISA
BMPs , and basic OSHA requirements Physically able to climb all day, work at height, and lift 50+ lbs regularly Comfortable working in changing weather conditions Valid driver's license required ISA Certified Arborist preferred (TRAQ is a plus) Work Environment & Culture Full-time, in-person position based out of Glenside, PA Safety-first, team-oriented crew that values quality work and looking out for each other Professional but laid-back environment where everyone pitches in
