Bucket Truck Operator / Line Clearance Arborist (Certified)

Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Bucket Truck Operator with Line Clearance Arborist certification to perform vegetation management and tree maintenance activities near energized electrical utility lines. The ideal candidate will have experience operating aerial lift equipment, performing technical tree trimming and removals, and working in compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and utility safety standards. Key Responsibilities Operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts, chippers, chainsaws, and related equipment safely and efficiently. Perform line clearance tree trimming and removals around energized distribution and transmission lines. Maintain minimum approach distances and follow all electrical hazard safety procedures. Identify hazardous trees, limbs, and vegetation conditions that may impact utility infrastructure. Conduct pruning according to

standards and industry best practices. Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections and complete required maintenance reports. Set up and maintain proper traffic control and work-zone safety procedures. Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, utility representatives, and the public. Respond to emergency storm restoration and outage situations as required. Maintain accurate job documentation, work orders, and safety records. Follow all company policies, DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and environmental guidelines. Required Qualifications Current Line Clearance Arborist certification through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) or equivalent. Valid CDL (Class A or B preferred) with clean driving record. Demonstrated experience operating bucket trucks and aerial lift equipment. Knowledge of electrical hazard awareness and utility line clearance operations. Proficiency with chainsaws, rigging equipment, ropes, and climbing gear. Ability to read and interpret utility maps, work orders, and safety procedures. Strong understanding of

OSHA, ANSI

Z133, and DOT regulations. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions. Preferred Qualifications Additional certifications such as CPR/First Aid, EHAP, or Utility Arborist credentials. Previous utility vegetation management experience. Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance knowledge. Experience with storm restoration and emergency response operations. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50-75 pounds regularly. Ability to climb, balance, bend, kneel, and work at heights for extended periods. Ability to work near energized electrical equipment safely. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs when necessary. Work Environment Outdoor work in all weather conditions. Exposure to loud noise, moving equipment, wood debris, and electrical hazards. Travel to various job sites may be required.
