Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Tree Climber and become a vital part of maintaining healthy, beautiful, and safe urban and rural landscapes. In this energetic role, you will utilize your climbing skills and horticultural knowledge to perform tree care, trimming, and maintenance tasks that enhance the safety and aesthetics of our environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop specialized skills, and contribute to community well-being through expert tree management. Duties Safely ascend trees using ropes, harnesses, and climbing techniques to perform pruning, trimming, and removal tasks. Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts to access high branches efficiently and securely. Use rigging equipment to carefully lower large branches or debris, ensuring safety for personnel and property. Conduct tree assessments using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to document tree conditions and locations. Perform landscape maintenance activities such as lawn care, shrub trimming, and general landscaping to support overall site health. Apply horticultural principles to promote healthy growth, including planting, fertilizing, and pest management. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including safety inspections, rigging setups, and tree health reports. Experience Proven experience in tree care, trimming, or landscaping with growing knowledge of horticulture practices. Hands-on experience operating bucket trucks and bucket lifts in a safe manner. Familiarity with rigging techniques for safe removal or pruning of large trees or branches. Knowledge of GIS software for mapping and documenting tree locations and conditions is a plus. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to climbing, rigging, and equipment use in outdoor environments. Previous experience in lawn care or landscape maintenance is desirable but not required. Ability to demonstrate physical stamina, coordination, and attention to detail necessary for climbing and outdoor work.
