Position Summary The Arborist is responsible for maintaining trees and shrubs through systematic pruning and integrated pest management as part of an overall plant health care program. This role also involves supervising and performing specialized tree care tasks such as cabling, bracing, rigging, and safe tree removals while ensuring compliance with all safety standards and company policies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform daily tree maintenance operations, including pruning, rigging, and removals Climb trees safely to complete trimming and arborist tasks Perform specialty arborist work such as cabling, bracing, and rigging Safely drag and chip limbs and debris Operate chainsaws, bucket trucks, and other arborist equipment Conduct daily inspection and maintenance of tools and equipment Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety policies Wear required personal protective equipment at all times Lift, move, and transport equipment, materials, and supplies as needed

Required Qualifications Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of tree climbing and rigging experience Experience with pruning, rigging, and safe removals

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required Bachelors degree preferred

Certifications & Licenses:

Valid state drivers license required ISA Certification preferred Willingness to obtain ISA Certification within 2 years Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of tree care and arborist safety practices Ability to operate chainsaws and bucket trucks Ability to work efficiently in outdoor environments Strong attention to safety and detail Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods Language Skills Ability to read and understand simple instructions Ability to write basic correspondence Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 90 pounds Regular lifting of 25 pounds; frequent lifting of 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds Ability to climb trees and work at heights Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (hot and cold) Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, balance, and crawl as required Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
