The starting salary range for this position is $126,960- $158,700 (based on qualifications).
Introductory Period:

Program Manager- Utility Vegetation Overview Develop and manage the District's Utility Forestry program.

audits. Update District's Transmission Vegetation Management Plan as needed and keep up-to-date on any industry standards changes. Submit quarterly NERC transmission vegetation outage reports to WECC, to maintain compliance for the District. Work closely with the District's Transmission Compliance department meeting requested dead lines of work assignments associated withNERC FAC-003
standard. Customer District forestry program lead representative for customer owner inquiries, requests and complaints. Educate customers and promote the District's tree trimming objectives. District arborist representative for approval of removing and pruning trees in PUD parks and other District properties as needed. Develops advertisements, public service announcements and materials to promote the District's Utility Forestry Program. Develop & maintain working relationships with customer owners and federal, state, county, and city agencies. Develop and manage an annual 3 to 4 million dollar forestry program budget. Includes training, tools and requirements for contractors and staff. Ensure adherence to limits, estimating needs and manages changes that are consistent with forest industry practices. Includes forecasting future needs or changes in the industry that could impact the budget. Maintain regular and predictable attendance: Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Comply with District policies. Complete all required training. Maintain a working knowledge and comply with District safety procedures and specific safety requirements of this position, and those in accordance with applicable provisions of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Employees with access to confidential employee records and information are required to restrict access from any unauthorized person, except on a need to know basis. safety standards, ANSI A300 pruning standards and pesticide standards. Knowledge of horticultural practices, plant taxonomy, and insect/disease identification. Knowledge of electric utility powerline and associated electrical equipment Knowledge of transmission and distribution line clearance practices and procedures. Knowledge of powerline tree pruning methods Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to supervise and effectively direct the work of others. Ability to identify and deal with hazardous and problem trees. Ability to operate off-road motorcycles or all-terrain vehicles. Ability to recognize and solve problems. Familiar with tree trimming equipment including brush mowing machines, bucket trucks, chippers, chainsaws, harnesses, ropes, rigging, pole pruners and hand saws. Must have ability to operate in the field under difficult conditions including hazardous trees, wind events, snow events, wildland fire, etc. Have ability to prioritize and manage several tasks that are occurring at the same time and shift focus between efforts efficiently is necessary. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of PeopleSoft (Timekeeping/ Payroll systems); Accounting software; Microsoft Outlook; Contact Management systems; Maximo; Asset Management and Order processing systems; FileNet (document file management); GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping; Microsoft Excel software; and Microsoft Word. Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English. This position communicates with the public 5- 20% of the time.
