  • Full-time Overview Canopy Cops has a dream opening for an experienced climbing arborist.
We specialize in technical tree removals and high end large tree pruning & cabling. Even more specifically we specialize in crane removals so crane climbing experience is a huge bonus. If you like the sound of rope burning through a zig zag this is the perfect job for you. If you like setting lots of redirects and making small end weight cuts this is the perfect position for you. If you like driving big trucks down residential streets dodging low tree branches and blowing the air horn for the kids… then we want to see your application. This is a small company where we treat the equipment like a member of the team and the customers like friends. Responsibilities Driving and staging heavy trucks & equipment. Communicating with customers and coworkers effectively Perform tree climbing, pruning, cabling, and removal using industry-standard techniques . Operate self-propelled lifts to perform pruning and removal operations when faster or safer than climbing would be Form and perform rigging plans to safely lift and/or lower large branches or trees during removal or pruning projects. Maintaining neat and orderly trucks and job sites. Skills Familiarity with advanced tree climbing techniques and equipment. Should be able to effectively use
MRS & SRS
climbing techniques Comfortable with redirects and various canopy tie and basal tie techniques. Route planning and rope installation with slingshots and cannons are a huge plus Experience setting up various rigging situations including negative rigging, lifting operations with GRCS, span rigging, zip lining, high lines, etc Ability to operate aerial lifts and articulating loaders/grapple trucks confidently and safely. Tree biology as it applies to structure pruning and proper pruning cuts Excellent understanding of safety procedures related to climbing, equipment operation, and working at heights.
