Job Description

The City of Beloit is now accepting applications for the Equipment Operator- Parks position in the Parks and Recreation Division of the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for performing, as an individual or as a member of a team, the provision of grounds maintenance within city parks, green spaces, and/or city-owned property and facilities. Under supervision, performs skilled manual labor including mowing, trimming, tree trimming/removal, stump removal, landscaping, and ballfield prep and repair. This position works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent 2. A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record 3. Class B Commercial Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire. 4. Certification in FEMA IS-100 and FEMA IS-700 or ability to obtain within six months of hire. 5. A minimum of one (1) year of responsible work experience, with experience in mowing, grounds maintenance, landscaping, construction, tree pruning and related tree-care activities, including manual and semi-skilled work. 6. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered.
