Part-time, Temporary (1 year) The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification. This is not an exhaustive list of job responsibilities and therefore other duties may be assigned. Position Summary The Noxious Weeds Manager will be responsible for mapping out the spread of noxious weeds throughout Bent Conservation District and spearheading educational programming to educate the community about the existence, risks, and classifications of noxious weeds within the state of Colorado. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Identify invasive exotic and native plant species Maintain detailed records of acres surveyed and noxious or invasive plant species discovered Map noxious weed infestations using GPS and log findings through EDDMapS Plan, operate, and promote educational programming and events Maintain knowledge of rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to Colorado Noxious Weed Act Mix, load, and apply herbicides in full accordance with label Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities High School Diploma or GED Ability to read maps and map weed locations Creating and maintaining records with excellent attention to detail Effective communication and conflict resolution skills Knowledge of weeds, herbicides, and integrated pest management Basic computer skills, such as using word processors, spreadsheets, and mapping software, in addition to basic knowledge of social media platforms Prior experience with EDDMapS preferred, but not required Licenses or Certificates Valid Driver's License Possession of a qualified supervisor's pesticide application license from the Colorado Department of Agriculture or obtain licensure within three (3) months of hire required. 18 years or older Work Environment Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, bees, wasps, mosquitos, biting flies, ticks, snakes, and other wildlife Potential exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as extreme heat or wind Physical Demands Operating district truck safely Utilizing hand or power tools Maintaining and repairing equipment Ability to traverse uneven terrain by foot Full mobility, vision, and hearing It is the policy of Bent Conservation District not to discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, national origin, religion, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, marital status, veteran status, political affiliation, or any other applicable status protected by Federal, state, or local law.Pay:
