Nature Center Instructor 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars Do you love the outdoors, enjoy teaching, and get excited about helping people connect with nature? ✨ The Crystal Lake Park District is looking for an energetic and creative Nature Center Program Instructor to join our team! In this role, you'll help bring nature to life through hands-on, engaging programs for schools, scouting groups, families, and the community. If you're passionate about environmental education and thrive in a fun, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. What You'll Do Plan, organize, and lead nature-based educational and recreational programs Create and deliver engaging programs for: School field trips Scout badge programs Birthday parties Community outreach events Develop written content for brochures, program descriptions, and marketing materials Present fun, interactive lessons and talks to groups of all ages Prepare program areas, manage supplies, and ensure smooth set-up and clean-up Work collaboratively with the Nature Center Recreation Supervisor and Marketing team What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required (Degree in environmental science, education, or related field preferred) At least 2 years of teaching or public presentation experience Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Ability to connect with diverse audiences of all ages Comfortable using basic computer applications Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently Available to work evenings and weekends Able to juggle multiple programs while staying professional and positive Why You'll Love This Role Share your passion for nature and education Inspire curiosity and environmental stewardship in the community Work in a beautiful, outdoor-focused environment Gain hands-on experience in interpretive and environmental programming Be part of a supportive, mission-driven park district team The Crystal Lake Park District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
