Camp Specialist

The Hampshire Regional YMCA is looking to add some new, dynamic roles to our Camp Prospect team for 2026! Camp Prospect is our recreational day camp operating out of our YMCA in Northampton, serving youth age 5-14 through a variety of activities including sports, swimming, crafts, games, songs, teambuilding, and outdoor play. We are adding a new feature to our curriculum this year: Specialists! Groups of youth will rotate through specialist stations throughout the camp day to get focused practice in 3 areas: Performing Arts, STEM/Nature, and Physical Activity Play. If you have a background in any of these three areas and childcare, this role may be a good fit for you! We are looking to hire for three separate specialist positions, so knowledge is only required in one of the three areas. Position begins mid-June and ends August 28.

Job Duties:

Plan and lead activities appropriate for each age group (spanning 5-14) in your particular specialty area Organize and maintain supplies related to your specialty area, communicating with camp director about restocking and repairs as needed Use time management skills to manage the camp day schedule so that groups are rotating through your station at appropriate intervals Provide leadership to camp counselors on curriculum delivery for your specialty area Must have prior work, education, or extracurricular experience in your specialty area Must be 18 years of age or older Experience and passion for working with children required Summer camp experience a plus Benefits include a free membership to the Y and the opportunity to participate in a 403(b).
