Job Description

Must be a results oriented self-starter with good computer skills and a background in agriculture. Must enjoy working with the public and outdoors in all types of weather and have a basic knowledge of agricultural machinery. Benefits available. GED or high school diploma required, college degree preferred. Must have valid Real ID compliant driver's license and be able to pass federal background check.
Job Description:
Meet with and assist landowners with various cost-share programs. Carry out technical and administrative responsibilities including, but not limited to, SWCD cost-share programs, maintaining conservation plans, maps, reports, and records. Keep abreast of all federal, state and local laws and policies that affect the conservation work with the SWCD. Assist with surveys, designs, layouts and help oversee the completion of conservation practices. Answer phone calls and meet the public in a courteous and helpful manner. Assist with scheduling, billing and maintenance of SWCD equipment. Additional duties as requested by the District Manager or Board of Supervisors.
Qualifications:
Have the ability to lift 50 lbs. Walk moderate distances on slopes in woody or brushy environment. Work in ALL outdoor conditions. Strong computer and math skills are a must. Must pass a USDA federal background check and possess a valid Real ID compliant driver's license. High school diploma or GED is required. Basic farm knowledge and experience is preferred. Relevant experience is a plus. Working hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
