District Specialist

Job Summary The Clinton County Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting applications for a District Specialist. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday. Starting hourly rate is $17.16 per hour, 40 hours per week, or higher based upon experience and/or education.

The District Specialist job duties include, but are not limited to: assisting landowners with the implementation of state cost-share programs, such as surveying/staking fields for terrace layout, and designing the cost-share practice on the computer in the office. The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and travel over rough terrain is required. Basic farm knowledge/experience is helpful. General office duties includes, processing paperwork and contracts for the State-cost share conservation program. The applicant must have good communication skills, basic computer skills, adapt to day to day changes and be able to work independently as well as work on a team. The Soil and Water Conservation District carries out the policies of the Soil and Water Conservation District Commission following the Soil and Water Districts Law (Chapter 28 RSMo). The program promotes good farming practices that help keep soils in fields, our waters clean and conserves the productivity of Missouri's farm ground. The Parks, Soils and Water Sales Tax provides financial incentives and share the cost between the farmer and the state for implementing soil and water conservation practices.
