Job Description
The Fertigation Tech II position is a technical role focused on manual irrigations and automated irrigation system basics. This role acts as a middle ground for the department, introducing more technical skills and knowledge with higher accountability tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists in training for new employees and ensures staff are following proper protocol to meet company standards. Performs all Tech I tasks as needed. Assesses and irrigates any plants requiring manual feeds. Monitors, maintains and responds to plant health for manually fed plants, as well as fulfilling goals such as runoff % and dry down %. Mixes stock solution tanks accurately for the automated irrigation system. Assesses automated system performance and assist supervisor with adjustments related to the irrigation system. Collects water samples for lab analysis and perform in-house water sample tests. Initiates irrigations via the automated irrigation system in limited circumstances. Performs work in adherence to biosecurity & safety protocols. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge State/Federal background checks required Understands and adheres to SOP's for specialized areas Ability to handle multiple projects & tasks simultaneously Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines Strong interpersonal communication skills are necessary Strong ethics, reliability & attention to detail Ability to stay focused Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Must be a team player with a "can do" attitude Available to work weekends and holidays as needed Reliable transportation Education and Experience Requirements High school degree or equivalent Working knowledge of fertigation department processes and procedures 6 months+ of fertigation experience in a licensed cannabis facility strongly preferred Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The ability to respond quickly to sounds The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions The ability to work in low light situations Lifting, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, push/pull, repetitive use of hands, grasping use of hands, visual activity Exposure to limited hazardous chemicals Must be able to go up and down a ladder repeatedly.
