This role requires a solid understanding of irrigation components such as piping, pumps, controllers, timers, and communication systems. Success in this position depends on strong troubleshooting skills, accurate system programming, and the ability to maintain reliable system performance. You will work closely with clients, vendors, and internal team members, maintaining professional relationships through clear verbal and written communication, both in person and by phone. Additional responsibilities include performing scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, service calls, documentation, and responding promptly to client service requests. Ensuring client satisfaction through accurate diagnosis, timely repairs, and consistent system performance is essential. This position requires teamwork, flexibility, and a strong commitment to customer service. Candidates must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and be on-call as business needs require. A minimum of three (3) years of irrigation experience is preferred, along with proficiency in using smartphones, tablets, and other handheld technology for communication and reporting. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation system issues to ensure optimal performance and water efficiency Conduct comprehensive inspections of existing irrigation systems across properties to verify proper operation and identify needed repairs or upgrades Determine root causes of system failures and perform necessary repairs, including valves, heads, mainlines, and backflow components Trace and repair electrical components, including wiring, solenoids, controllers, clocks, and timers Install, program, test, and initialize irrigation controllers and zones Locate irrigation zones, valves, and heads using maps, as-builts, and electronic locating tools Perform routine system checks and make adjustments to ensure proper watering coverage for turf and plant material Repair irrigation mainlines, lateral lines, and backflow prevention devices in compliance with local codes Troubleshoot two-wire irrigation systems, identify faults, and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime Perform pump diagnostics, repairs, and system startups as needed Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and inspection reports Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to supervisors, clients, and team members Adhere to company safety standards, policies, and best practices Operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
