In this vital role, you will be responsible for monitoring crop health, livestock conditions, and farm infrastructure across multiple locations. Your keen eye and hands-on approach will help ensure optimal growth, animal welfare, and operational efficiency. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, apply your mechanical and animal husbandry skills, and contribute directly to successful farming operations. Responsibilities Conduct regular inspections of crops, livestock, and farm equipment to assess health and identify issues early. Monitor irrigation systems, greenhouse environments, and growing conditions to optimize plant development. Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, tractors, and other farm equipment safely and efficiently. Perform basic maintenance and repairs on farm machinery, tools, and equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, or equipment repair skills. Assist with animal handling tasks including feeding, grooming, and ensuring proper animal husbandry practices are followed. Supervise or coordinate with farm workers or seasonal staff to ensure tasks are completed accurately and safely. Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, animal health status, and crop progress to support ongoing farm management. Requirements Proven supervising experience in agricultural or farm settings. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform equipment repair and basic welding tasks. Hands-on experience with animal husbandry and animal handling techniques. Familiarity with farm machinery operation including forklifts, heavy equipment, irrigation systems, and power tools. Knowledge of horticulture practices such as greenhouse management and growing techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery confidently. Strong understanding of farming principles including agriculture best practices, crop management, and sustainable practices. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to irrigation or fertilizer application. Experience in maintaining equipment through routine inspections and troubleshooting issues promptly.
