Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Farm Manager will lead the entire operation of the GSFP's food production and farm training programs, and restore, manage, and maintain the necessary farm infrastructure and equipment. Leading Farm Training Curriculum Cooperate with community partners Market the Farm and seek new revenue-generating opportunities for produce as needed Supervise the Farm's operating budget and uphold fiscal responsibility for staffing and other operational activities. Attend Agency and other events to promote teaching and marketing for the Farm Fundraise for the Farm as needed or at management's request Operate, maintain, assess, and repair small tractors and implements. Operate, maintain, and repair pumps, plumbing, irrigation lines, and sprinklers Design and implement effective farming techniques to ensure healthy production Work with Shelter chefs to help determine produce production Managing and directing volunteer and hired laborers Operate, maintain, assess, and repair small tractors and implements Operate, maintain, and repair pumps, plumbing, irrigation lines, and sprinklers Design and implement effective farming techniques to ensure healthy production Perform all tasks in accordance with the GSFP's Safety and Wellness Protocol and responsibly work to enhance that program Be prepared to respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations, providing immediate assistance and access to appropriate resources as needed. Accountable for completing and submitting work orders, procuring necessary supplies, and maintaining the facility in good condition. Encouraging and supporting team members' professional growth. Responsible for conducting annual performance evaluations, providing counseling, and overseeing disciplinary procedures for staff. Ensures that staff receive proper training and are well-equipped to fulfill their roles effectively and contribute to the program's success. Oversee staff timecards and training are submitted in a timely manner. Ability to work flexibly and adapt to varying schedules and demands. Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures Maintain compliance with all labor laws and regulations, including specific farm regulations Education and/orWork Experience Requirements:

A minimum educational requirement to demonstrate basic literacy and communication skills. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field preferred. Minimum one year of experience in full-season management. Farm planning experience and working knowledge of farm infrastructure. Experience working with farm machinery.Crisis intervention skills:
Capacity to handle crisis situations and de-escalate conflicts.Empathy and compassion:
Demonstrating genuine care and understanding for individuals experiencing homelessness. Ability to work in a team: Collaboration and cooperation with other shelter staff, volunteers, and external agencies. Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office- Word, Excel, and Outlook)
