Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Farm Manager specializing in Orchards to join our vibrant agricultural team. In this role, you will support the overall management of orchard and farm operations, ensuring optimal growth, health, and productivity of fruit trees. Your energetic approach will help maintain high standards of farm maintenance, animal husbandry, and equipment operation. Housing is also provided. Duties Assist in overseeing daily orchard activities, including planting, pruning, harvesting, and pest management. Supervise farm staff and seasonal workers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, sprayers, and irrigation systems with precision and care. Perform equipment repairs, welding, and basic maintenance to keep machinery in top condition. Implement irrigation schedules and monitor water systems to optimize crop growth. Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely for various farm tasks while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed records of crop progress, equipment maintenance, and animal care activities for operational efficiency. Qualifications Proven supervising experience in farming or agricultural settings with strong leadership skills. Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance. Bi-Lingual Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, and power tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of horticulture practices, greenhouse management, or growing experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with irrigation systems, greenhouse environments, and general farm maintenance techniques. Computer skills including basic excel, word and e-mail Physical ability for heavy lifting, long hours outdoors, and operating heavy equipment as needed.
