https://www.millermothranch.com/ The Miller Moth Ranch is located in the foothills of Parkfield and San Miguel on the northern end of Ranchita Canyon in southern Monterey County. We are a year round, family owned and operated agricultural farm. We raise Angus Cross Cattle and African Boer Meat Goats. We farm some of the land (Hay and Grain Production). We share the ranch through various agri-tourism activites and have a custom state butcher shop as well. ​Our primary goal is, and has always been, to preserve the ranch and its agricultural beauty for future generations. Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dependable Ranch Hand/Laborer to join the Miller Moth Ranch. This vital role involves supporting daily ranch operations, caring for livestock, maintaining equipment, and assisting with farm-related tasks. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a passion for agriculture. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the health and productivity of our ranch. Responsibilities Assist with the daily care and handling of livestock, including feeding, watering, grooming, and health monitoring Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, plows, and irrigation systems to ensure efficient farm operations Perform equipment repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and basic mechanical knowledge Support crop growing activities including planting, harvesting, greenhouse management, and horticultural tasks Manage heavy lifting tasks and operate heavy equipment like forklifts safely and efficiently Conduct routine inspections of fences, water systems, and infrastructure to ensure safety and functionality Assist with animal husbandry duties including breeding, healthcare checks, and general animal handling Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas while adhering to safety protocols
BONUS:
If you have butcher shop experience we are also looking for a butcher for Ranchita Meat Company and open to this being a hybrid role. This role would be at a higher hourly rate. Qualifications Proven experience supervising or leading teams in agricultural or ranch settings is preferred Mechanical knowledge combined with experience repairing farm machinery and equipment Strong animal husbandry skills with a focus on livestock care and handling techniques Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, power tools, hand tools, and irrigation systems safely Experience with equine care or working with horses is highly desirable Knowledge of farming practices including planting, growing cycles, greenhouse management, and horticulture Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to farming activities, and record keeping Physical ability for heavy lifting, long hours outdoors, and working in varying weather conditions Join us to be part of a team dedicated to sustainable farming practices!
