Job Responsibilities System Monitoring:

Operating and supervising large-scale irrigation systems during the night.

Troubleshooting & Repair:

Identifying and fixing irrigation malfunctions, such as broken heads, leaks, or valve issues, under low-light conditions.

System Optimization:

Adjusting controllers and settings to ensure precise water distribution, reducing water waste.

Inspections:

Conducting detailed inspections to document system performance and necessary repairs.

Key Skills & Requirements Technical Knowledge:

Understanding of irrigation controller hardware, valves, and hydraulics.

Mechanical Aptitude:

Ability to perform hands-on repairs on sprinklers and pump systems.

Independence:

Ability to work alone and make decisions during nighttime hours.

Reliability:

High attention to detail to prevent significant water loss.

Licensing:

Often requires a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment & Compensation Hours:

Primarily nocturnal, designed to take advantage of lower temperatures and wind speeds.

Salary:

$22 per hour. O • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
