Job Description
Sunflower Farm is an educational demonstration and production farm located in Southwest Longmont, Colorado. We have a licensed school, dozens of farm animals, run agritourism and grow veggies for the community. Currently we are seeking a part or full-time Farm Hand who can work on Mondays and Fridays, with the possibility of extending to full weeks from Monday through Friday from 7-3PM, about 40 hours per week. This candidate should be hard working, enjoy being outside in all weather, should be physically fit and able to lift at least 50 pounds and able to work independently. This person will be responsible for the following tasks, but not limited to: Gardening, landscaping, weeding, planting, harvesting, seeding, transplanting Take care of feeding animals each morning-includes sheep, horses, chickens, goats, llamas/alpaca and donkey. Handles maintenance issues & repairs of all school buildings, farm and animal stalls-includes plumbing & electrical issues. Able to construct or build shelves, shelters, roofs etc. and repair fences. Must feel comfortable around horses. Cleaning outdoor tables, bathrooms, builings and play equipment around the farm. Blowing walkways each morning. Basic care for animals, helping vet, animal vaccinations, hoove trimming, moving sheep around fields and taking animals to auction as needed. Cleaning chicken coop. Bike repair Machine Repair Continually monitor farm and animals for issues, and be pro-active when you see something needs to happen. Taking out trash around farm. Assist and prepare with bigger seasonal farm projects, such as preparing garden beds, planting, harvesting, weeding, raking, preparing for music events, shoveling snow, running bobcat or tractor, mucking stalls, picking up animal waste, building fences, wasps and pest eradication. Assisting with mowing and landscaping Watering trees Completing construction projects as needed Bulk store supply pick-ups.

- Ability to drive Bobcat/Tractor or other heavy machinery
- Be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must go for a Criminal background check and have a clean record
- -Must have reliable transportation.
- Must like children and be a friendly to guests, staff, parents and children.
Pay:
$20.00- $25.
