Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Pruning Foreman / Horticultural Maintenance Foreman with a strong background in ornamental plant care, fine pruning techniques, and landscape maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on pruning experience and possess a deep understanding of plant health, growth habits, and proper maintenance practices for high-end residential landscapes. This position requires someone who can lead by example in the field, work independently, and maintain the quality standards expected on luxury properties. Responsibilities Perform expert hand pruning of ornamental trees, shrubs, perennials, and specialty plantings. Shape and maintain plant material while preserving its natural form and aesthetic appearance. Identify and address plant health issues, including disease, insect damage, and environmental stress. Perform seasonal pruning according to best horticultural practices. Oversee and execute detailed landscape maintenance operations. Monitor and maintain the overall health and appearance of landscapes. Lead and train crew members on proper pruning and horticultural techniques. Assist with turf care, ornamental maintenance, mulching, edging, weeding, and seasonal cleanups. Operate and maintain pruning equipment, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, pole pruners, and other landscape tools safely. Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, and clients when necessary. Ensure all work is completed efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional pruning and landscape maintenance experience. Extensive knowledge of ornamental trees, shrubs, perennials, and turf management. Strong understanding of plant identification, growth habits, and seasonal maintenance requirements. Ability to recognize common plant diseases, pests, and cultural issues. Experience working on high-end residential properties preferred. Leadership experience managing and motivating crews. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work. Preferred Qualifications Horticulture, arboriculture, or landscape management background. Experience with fine gardening and estate property maintenance.
