Overview Join our vibrant agricultural team as a Beekeeper's Helper and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of apiculture! In this energetic role, you will assist experienced beekeepers in maintaining healthy hives, ensuring the safety and productivity of bee colonies, and supporting honey extraction processes. This position offers a dynamic environment where hands-on animal husbandry meets farm machinery expertise, providing an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in agriculture, animal care, and equipment maintenance. Duties Assist with hive inspections, including checking for signs of disease, pests, and overall hive health Support the setup, maintenance, and repair of beekeeping equipment such as smokers, hive tools, and protective gear Help with honey harvesting activities, including extracting honey from frames and preparing it for packaging Operate farm machinery and heavy equipment safely during hive transport or apiary setup Maintain cleanliness and organization of apiary sites, ensuring a safe environment for bees and workers Support animal husbandry tasks related to bee colonies and other farm animals as needed Perform routine equipment repairs using hand tools, welding skills, or power tools to ensure operational efficiency Qualifications Prior supervising experience or leadership roles in farm or animal care settings is preferred Mechanical knowledge with experience operating farm machinery, heavy equipment, forklifts, or irrigation systems Strong animal husbandry skills with a focus on animal handling and care practices Experience with welding, equipment repair, or maintenance tasks is advantageous Knowledge of horticulture or greenhouse operations can be beneficial Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Basic math skills for measurements, record keeping, and data tracking related to hive management and farm activities This position is paid and offers a rewarding opportunity to grow your expertise in agriculture while supporting vital pollination efforts.
