Hours and Days:
Monday-Sunday 7am-5pm depending on weather conditions, changes in quota and any unforeseen issues and market conditions.
Pay Rate:
Employer Pays weekly, Pre-harvest pay is by the hour $14.00 and Harvester Pay is by piece rate $.60 per 5/8 bushel. Bucket equals 35 pounds when full. The employer guarantees Florida's minimum wage currently $14.00 per hour. This Job Order is a Recruiting agreement.
Duties :
The type of tomatoes to harvest will be grape and round tomatoes. Pre-Harvest- pay rate is $14.00per hour . Will work laying plastic in fields, putting tie stakes in ground for planting crop in fields, will transplant young tomato plants by hand by pulling from tray and placing in holes made in plastic in assigned rows, will weed, hoe to prepare farm fields for the seasonal harvesting of tomato crop. Harvest - The farm-worker will handpick "harvest" round, grape, roma or cherry tomatoes by twisting the fruit from the vine and placing the fruit in a 5/8 bushel bucket. The harvester will carry the bucket to a flatbed truck to be dumped in large bins or boxes to be hauled to the packing house to be graded and stored for shipping to various locations. The harvester will receive a "token" for piece rate record keeping of each filled bucket. Dimare guaranteed the minimum wage.
Pay Rate:
piece rate is $ .70 per round tomato bucket $.80 per roma tomato bucket $2.75 per grape tomato crate
Physical Requirements:
Will lift and carry up to 35 pounds (Frequently) through the day Will Walk, Stand Bend and/or Stoop (Frequently) through the day Will work in hot, humid, wet and cold climatic conditions I-9/Registration AND worksite
