Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative Landscape Designer/Horticulturist to lead the creation of inspiring outdoor environments and to manage onsite nursery. In this role, you will combine artistic vision with technical expertise to design sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing landscapes. You will collaborate closely with clients and project manager to bring visionary concepts to life, ensuring every project meets high standards of quality, environmental responsibility, and client satisfaction. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive landscape design concepts utilizing software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Civil 3D, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite to visualize ideas clearly and compellingly. Conduct site analysis using GIS tools like ArcView and ArcGIS to assess land features, topography, soil conditions, and existing vegetation for informed planning. Prepare detailed construction documents including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for hardscape elements like paving, retaining walls, and irrigation systems. Collaborate with civil engineers on land surveying data and civil engineering requirements to ensure designs integrate seamlessly with infrastructure. Incorporate sustainable design principles into projects by selecting eco-friendly materials, optimizing water management through irrigation planning, and promoting native planting schemes. Oversee project implementation from initial concept through construction management, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Engage in landscape maintenance planning and provide guidance on landscaping best practices to ensure long-term project success. Qualifications Proven experience in landscape architecture or design with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects. Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, ArcGIS/ArcView for detailed drafting and visualization. Knowledge of horticulture principles combined with landscaping techniques for plant selection and landscape sustainability. Familiarity with construction processes including estimating costs, managing construction phases, and coordinating contractors. Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts related to land surveying, grading, drainage systems, and land development. Skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite for presentation development and client communication. Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in drafting and design documentation. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients, team members, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
