Job Description
Nursery Worker Duties:
- Plant and maintain a variety of plants, trees, and shrubs
- Water plants and ensure proper irrigation
- Apply organic fertilizers and organic pesticides as needed
- Prune and trim plants to maintain their health and appearance
- Transplant seedlings and young plants into larger containers or outdoor beds
- Monitor plant health and identify any signs of disease or pest infestation
- Assist customers with plant selection and provide gardening advice
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery
Requirements:
- Previous experience in plant care or horticulture preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of different types of plants, trees, and shrubs a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting heavy pots or bags of soil
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
