Job Description

Job Overview The primary objective of the Swine Production Laborer is to manage and maintain a highly efficient and successful swine operation. This position carries a significant level of responsibility and requires a deep commitment to excellence. Swine Production Laborers objective will be to ensure the well-being of livestock.
Key Abilities:
Reading and Writing skills: Proficient in reading and documenting necessary information for comprehensive reports Attention to detail: Exceptional focus on details to ensure all operations meet quality and health standards, including animal welfare and biosecurity protocols.
Organizational skills:
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure the farm functions smoothly on a daily basis.
Responsibility and Commitment:
Strong work ethic and dedication.
Math skills:
Intermediate math skills for calculating swine barn population.
Communication skills:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to ensure understanding.
Physical Job Requirements:
Lifting:
Frequent lifting of heavy objects Work environment: Must adapt to a loud and dusty setting while interacting closely with both large and small pigs, requiring vigilance and care.

Conditions:
The farm operates in a challenging environment and marked by noise and dust.
Animal interaction:
Responsibility for the care and management of both large and small livestock, ensuring their welfare and health at all times.
Responsibilities:
Farm activities: Daily choring of swine. Ability to load and unload swine as well as the identification of illness.
Cleanliness Standards:
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, with a schedule for regular cleaning of barn entrances and office space to promote biosecurity.
Training and development:
Train and develop skills to enhance your knowledge to improve performance and production.
Biosecurity protocols:
Ensure farm staff and contractors strictly adhere to internal and external biosecurity protocols at all times to safeguard animal health.
Accurate record keeping:
Ensure that records are accurate and legible, submitting production reports to relevant parties by established deadlines.
Animal Welfare:
Ensure animals receive proper nutrition, welfare, and medical treatment regularly.
Emergency response:
Respond to alarm calls after normal hours in the event of barn system malfunctions, demonstrating reliability and readiness to act.

Maintain regular and reliable attendance
Miscellaneous Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by employer that contribute to the efficiency of the operation.
Requirements:
Valid drivers license PQA certification to be obtained (if not already) Farm experience preferred
Pay:
$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
