Job Description
One of our clients is looking for a Greenhouse Technician (Seed Handling & Harvest) in Johnston , IA. 50131 .
Duration:
12 months Shift-7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (M-F) Number of positions: 4 Pay range - $21-24/hour on W2 without benefits Job Summary Join our Controlled Environments Team and help support cutting-edge agricultural research in a 4-acre greenhouse facility. This hands-on role involves plant care, seeding, pollination, harvesting, seed processing, data collection, greenhouse sanitation, and maintaining accurate plant and seed records.What You'll Do:
- Care for greenhouse plants (watering, transplanting, harvesting)
- Process and handle seeds for corn, soybean, wheat, and other crops
- Assist with research trials and data collection
- Operate threshing equipment following safety protocols
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized greenhouse environment
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Agriculture, Biology, Horticulture, or related experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Comfortable working in a warm, humid greenhouse environment
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
