Boise Project Board of Control has been in existence since 1926 and is the largest irrigation entity in the Treasure Valley. We provide year-round employment in a family-like atmosphere. A completed Boise Project employment application is required and can be completed on our website at: www.boiseproject.net or at the office located at 2465 Overland Road, Boise. This is a full-time, non-exempt position - 40 hours a week, 7 days a week during the irrigation season (April-October). Monday-Saturday 6 hours nightly from 8:00pm to 2:00am, Sunday 4 hours nightly from 8:00pm to 12:00am. During the non-irrigation season (November-March) hours are 5 days a week, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm. Job duties during the water season include but are not limited to: Patrols irrigation facilities nightly; document readings and canal heights; check for and document leaks, breaks, rodent issued and any damage to irrigation facilities. Operate gates, checks, turnouts and spills to properly regulate water flow in canals and drains. Clean and maintain culvert crossings, pump inlet grates, checks and spills. Monitor canal easements for trespass and unauthorized uses. During non-irrigation season job duties include construct, install and repair weirs, concrete boxes and other structures. Assists in weed removal and/or week control applications. Prepare, pour, smooth and finish concrete for irrigation boxes, tiles, and canal linings. Prepare and laying of irrigation pipe, dig trenches. Tree, bush and weed trimming, burning and/or removal. Must have a clean driving record. Requires basic math and computer skills. Experience working with irrigation water is a plus. Must be physically fit and able to lift 50lbs, walk on uneven terrain and up/down steep canal banks. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test. Wages start at $19.95 hour based on experience, plus seasonal pay during the water delivery season. Benefits within 90 days include full medical, dental, vision and PERSI retirement
