Job Description

Porcine Farms LLC is a diversified family farm producing swine, corn, soybeans, and wheat. Our swine herd is a highly productive, independently owned, breed to finish operation. Do you like to see things get done? Have experience working on a production swine farm? Like to play a central role as part of a no-nonsense team to produce American bacon? If so, this may be the place for you! Local, progressive swine and grain farm seeks to hire a quality individual to work on our swine team on a full-time, year-round basis.
Education Required:
High School diploma preferred
Experience Required:
Livestock experience preferred, but not required. Responsibility, reliability, common sense and an excellent attitude are required. Drivers License and reliable vehicle required. Must be drug-free.
Job Responsibilities:
reading feed sheets, feeding guides, and nutritionist / veterinarian prescriptions gaining and putting into practice a good overall knowledge of safety procedures followed around animals, and pesticides ensuring swine health and comfort are maintained each day by treating swine health problems, monitoring feed & water conditions, and maintaining the barns and buildings managing the nursery stock by handling pigs to and from the nursery, completing nursery documentation and communicating with co-workers to ensure the nurseries are maintained with all required feed rations, medications, tools preparing for the finishing of hogs by power washing, disinfecting, and preparing and maintaining the rooms, and following finishing procedures during the grow-out phase working with and/or leading a team opportunity may exist to operate on-farm feed mill and heavy feed delivery truck other duties as assigned
Hours:
Average 50 hours/week, 7am-4pm Monday-Friday, rotating weekend hours, flexible schedules We practice the highest confidentiality during our interviewing process.
