Job Description

Join our Team committed to excellence in Landscape Horticulture. This full-time Landscape Horticulturist role offers the opportunity to work year-round, overseeing the care, maintenance, and enhancement of landscape beds, lawns, irrigation systems, and seasonal plantings. Responsibilities Apply proper pre-emergents to landscape beds Apply proper fertilization to landscape beds Identify and treat plant pest and diseases using curative and preventative methods Apply proper water using extensive irrigation system Troubleshoot and repair irrigation as needed Winterize irrigation system Maintain pesticide storage and spray application equipment Hand water as needed Maintain bed edges Prune shrubs and trees using proper pruning techniques Transplant shrubs and landscape as needed Replace shrubs and landscape as needed Prepare landscape beds in the fall for the winter months(i.e. leaf removal, pruning) Maintain weed control on all hardscapes (i.e. stone patios, cobble and gravel areas) Design, plant, and maintain annual flower and herb containers Design, plant, and maintain annual flower beds Purchase landscape materials, flowers, and mulch as needed Weed landscape beds Mulch landscape beds Safely operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment Complete administrative procedures and attend meetings as required Perform winter services such as snow clearing, plowing, shoveling, and salting as needed Qualifications Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Current Pesticide Applicator or Registered Technician License preferred (testing available) Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or directing team members. 3+ years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related field. Knowledge of plant identification, pest and disease management, fertilization, pruning, and irrigation systems. Experience operating and maintaining landscaping equipment, power tools, tractors, mowers, and snow removal equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and repair irrigation systems and perform routine equipment maintenance. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions. Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn and adapt to various software and technology programs to complete work duties. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
