Job Description

Overview Main Licence Requirement To apply, the candidate must currently hold a valid commercial driver's licence to operate heavy trucks. Candidates with one of the following licences will be considered: Alberta Class 1 driver's licence or Canadian equivalent;
U.S. CDL
Class A licence; or Mexican Federal Driver's Licence for freight transport, such as Category B, Category E, or another applicable federal commercial category for heavy freight transport. Do not apply if you do not currently hold a valid commercial driver's licence from Canada, the United States, or Mexico to operate heavy trucks. We are seeking an Agricultural Supervisor - Class 1 Driver and Agricultural Equipment Operator to work for an agricultural operation located in a rural area near Coutts, Alberta, Canada. The ideal candidate must have experience working on dairy farms, crop farms, or mixed farming operations, as well as experience driving commercial trucks and operating agricultural machinery. Experience Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience working on a dairy farm, crop farm, or mixed farming operation. Minimum 2 years of experience driving commercial trucks or vehicles requiring a commercial driver's licence. Experience operating tractors, combines, air drills, augers, loaders, and other agricultural equipment. Experience supervising, coordinating, or guiding farm workers will be considered an asset. Intermediate English skills for workplace safety, equipment operation, communication with the employer, and supervision of workers. Willingness to relocate and live near a rural area in Alberta, Canada. Main Responsibilities Supervise or coordinate the daily activities of the farm and farm workers. Operate agricultural machinery and farm equipment. Drive trucks, tractor-trailers, and other farm vehicles to transport grain, feed, supplies, equipment, livestock, or agricultural products. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections. Assist with seeding, harvesting, feeding, cleaning, maintenance, and general farm work. Report issues related to crops, livestock, machinery, transportation, or safety. Follow safety procedures and maintain basic records related to work, equipment, transportation, and production. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions This is a physically demanding position. The candidate must be able to: Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds. Bend, walk, stand, sit, climb, and perform repetitive tasks. Work outdoors in different weather conditions. Sit for extended periods while operating trucks, tractors, combines, or other agricultural equipment. Work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and flexible hours during busy seasons. Relocation Support The employer will assist the selected candidate with relocation to Alberta, Canada. Relocation support may also include assistance for the worker's immediate family members, where applicable. The candidate must be willing and able to relocate to Alberta, Canada, and live in a rural area or near the farm. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, follow instructions, communicate clearly, and support the supervision of other farm workers when needed.
