Job Description
Organization Focus :
Green Hill Therapy is an outpatient therapy clinic, located on a 10-acre farm that provides occupational, physical and speech therapy services to children with special needs. Therapy sessions involve a highly specialized treatment approach known as Hippotherapy combined with more traditional clinic-based therapy. Our therapists utilize the movement of our specially trained therapy horses, with the assistance of equine team members, to help children with special needs.Job Focus :
Work Hours:
Monday & Tuesday 7am - 4pm, Wednesday & Thursday 8am- 5pm(close) with an hour lunch. Assists Equine Manager in the day-to-day care of the grounds, building, equipment and horses of Green Hill Therapy. This includes but is not limited to property maintenance/repair, bringing the horses in from turnout, feeding and caring for the horses, and helping to ensure a positive and safe environment. The farm hand will be a resourceful, accountable and positive individual that embodies and helps further the organization's mission.Major Function/Responsibilities:
As directed by theEquine Manager:
- Property Care 1. Cutting of grass/weeds 2. Mending of fence 3. Checking and cleaning tree debris 4. Track Maintenance
- Keep all tools/maintenance supplies organized
- Tractor/Four Wheeler/weed eater maintenance
- Assist in care of all horses 1. Feeding and watering 2. Mucking stalls 3. Doctoring horses 4. Making sure barn is kept clean 5. Cleaning the track
- Assist with Hippotherapy program 1. Grooming horses before therapy sessions 2. Proper tack up of horses 3. Help in Hippotherapy sessions as HH or SW when needed 4. Drag arena footing
- Assist with Volunteer trainings.
- Seasonal driveway care
- Maintaining safe environment of barn and clinic through routine maintenance and coordination of projects with Equine Manager and Executive Director.
- Clear communication with the Equine Manager and Executive Director on daily duties and needs. Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to follow directions and work with a team
- Solid communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility Compensation
- $17/hour, up to 35 hours per week.
- PTO 40hrs per year, available after 6 months
