Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Stocker Cattle Manager to lead the care, and management of approximately 1700 head of stocker cattle. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant agricultural environment, ensuring the health and well-being of livestock while maintaining efficient operations. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, leadership skills, and a strong foundation in animal husbandry and farm machinery to foster a thriving livestock operation. This paid position is perfect for someone eager to grow their expertise in agriculture and animal care while making a tangible impact on our farm's success. Duties Oversee daily cattle management activities, including feeding, watering, and health monitoring to ensure optimal animal welfare. Knowledge in starting cattle is a must. Assist in sorting and shipping of yearling cattle Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors and other heavy equipment with mechanical knowledge and precision Perform equipment operation and routine maintenance to keep machinery in top condition Handle animal husbandry tasks including vaccination, treatments and record keeping for health histories Manage inventory of feed, supplies, and equipment, ensuring proper storage and organization Assist with fencing repairs, welding projects, and general farm maintenance using hand tools and power tools as needed Requirements 5-10 years of managing cattle with emphasis in stocker operations Passion for stocker cattle and grazing Strong mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery, equipment repair, welding, and heavy equipment operation Proven animal husbandry skills with experience in animal care and handling practices Responsible and works well by themselves Exemplifies good attitude and work ethic with livestock and people Basic math skills for record-keeping and inventory management are essential Enjoys working in very fast paced environment
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
