Intermittent/part-time flexible based on crop, soil, and weather conditions Position Overview The Research Farm Assistant (Farm Coordinator 1) supports agricultural operations and field research activities focused on vegetable crop production. This role assists with establishing, maintaining, and evaluating research experiments conducted at the OSU Muck Crops Agricultural Research Station. The position requires hands‑on field and greenhouse work, attention to detail, and the ability to operate farm machinery and equipment. Key Responsibilities Assist with layout of research plots, planting, and other tasks necessary to establish field experiments Harvest vegetable crops and process samples, including sorting, counting, and weighing Collect soil and plant samples and support research data collection activities Prepare soil, assist with greenhouse operations, and support seed processing Operate tractors, mowers, and various farm machinery and equipment Weed and maintain research plots to ensure high-quality research conditions Assist with installation and maintenance of irrigation systems Support field days, tours, and outreach activities hosted by the research station Assist with maintenance of farm facilities, machinery, and grounds Perform additional duties as assigned to support station operations Minimum Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED 0 years of relevant experience required Preferred Qualifications 0-2 years of experience in agriculture, horticulture, farm operations, or related field Experience operating tractors and farm machinery Familiarity with greenhouse or field research environments Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Strong attention to detail and ability to follow research protocolsAdditional Information:
